steve_vv@hotmail.co.ukMy relationship with hair started at a very tender age of 9 years when I decided to turn my dog Chukky into Donna Summer. Mum was not home so I felt that experimenting and then covering my chaos up (as usual) was a risk worth taking, forgetting that screwing once hair was not replaceable as a vase I would have broken or a pan I would have burned. Unfortunately, Chukky had to be turned into Bruce Willis as the hair cut did not turn well as I expected, my visions where always unorthodox and thus attracted the few.
After concluding primary school, I shifted with the flow into secondary schooling. However, I could not connect to any subject offered at the time and at around the 4 th grade I started working in one of the leading Salons at the time in Malta – Gardez Salon at Hotel Phoenicia Valetta with Mr. Charles Debono. Enjoying my exposure at the salon I applied for an apprenticeship with the School of Hairdressing.
The placement combining classroom and hands on practice under supervision. After two years I moved into full time employment with Tattai International with Guy Zammit for a period of six months, followed by Cuts Salon, managed by Denise Waddock Spiteri. In 2000 I decided to open my own salon - The Cutting Edge and since then I never looked back taking part in local and overseas shows, advance training, train the trainer courses, TV shows and portraying my work in local and international magazines.
